Masjid Alkaff Upper Serangoon

A request becomes a community.

A group of Indonesian domestic workers approached the mosque with a simple hope: to hold a fellowship programme called Wisata Qolbu and make better use of their weekends.

  • The programme proceeded with mosque guidance and support.
  • Members asked to volunteer and continue religious learning.
  • Indonesian Alkaff Upper Serangoon — IAUS — was formed.

Masjid Kampung Siglap

A new home inspires a new name.

When a management change brought the Alkaff chapter to a close, Masjid Kampung Siglap welcomed the community to continue its Qur’an, Iqra and selawat activities.

  • The move kept the weekend learning circle together.
  • IAUS became Raudhatul Jannah — “Garden of Paradise”.
  • The new name expressed hope for knowledge, fellowship and blessings.

Online & community spaces

The doors close. The circle stays connected.

COVID-19 stopped face-to-face gatherings, but not the relationships behind them. Weekly Zoom sessions became a way to study, check in and support one another.

  • Members maintained silaturahmi from their homes.
  • Study and mutual support continued every weekend online.
  • Later, FAST and NTUC-supported spaces helped activities resume safely.

Masjid Angullia

A renewed mosque opens the present chapter.

In September 2021, the newly renovated Masjid Angullia provided space for Raudhatul Jannah’s weekend activities. It remains the community’s current home.

  • Qur’an study continues with Ustazah Noridah Basir (ARS).
  • Selawat activities continue under the guidance of Mohamed Anas.
  • Learning, friendship and service remain at the heart of every weekend.

Liza recalls how a small intention in Singapore grew into a second home for people seeking closeness to Allah. Although she has returned to Indonesia, she says the community remains family and encourages it to keep moving, shining and caring for one another.

Assalamu’alaikum keluarga Raudhatul Jannah yang saya cintai.

Alhamdulillah, 10 tahun sudah kita berjalan bersama. Kita lalui perjalanan yang panjang dan berliku-liku. Dulu kita mulai dari niat kecil di Singapura, sekarang sudah jadi rumah kedua bagi banyak hati yang ingin dekat dengan Allah.

Walaupun hari ini saya sudah pulang ke Tanah Air dan menetap, saya tidak pernah melupakan jejak perjuangan kita bersama. Kalian semua adalah keluarga.

Teruslah melangkah. Teruslah bersinar. Teruslah menjadi keluarga yang penuh kasih sayang.

Selamat milad ke-10 Raudhatul Jannah. Semoga Allah terus jaga majelis ini, dilipatgandakan pahalanya, dan jadikan kita semua ahli syurga. Aamiin.
